Weight Watchers

I've lost 7-8 pounds in the past several weeks thanks to the help of Weight Watchers. When I looked at myself in the mirror yesterday, I saw more of what I think of myself as: an attactive tall, slender woman with loose fitting clothes! This moment was incredibly motivating for me to stay with it.

The key things so far that I've learned from Weight Watchers are:
- drink water
- make sure to get in at least the 5 fruits and veggies in a day
- track what you eat
- allow yourself to eat the "bad" foods, but only in moderation.
- find good substitutes for the "bad" foods you crave when you think you can handle a substitute over the real thing. (such as popcorn over potato chips)
- pay attention to how hungry / full you really are
- it is ok to throw away or put food away for later (one is not required to eat everything on one's plate).

From tracking what I eat, I have been sincerely surprised that I do not always get in my 5 fruits and veggies in a day. For those days that I do, I see that it really does make a difference in my hunger level as well as how I feel.

Also, I am starting to find some pleasure when I see that I am really able to stop eating and get over the idea that I must eat everything on my plate. It's like "yeah, I can stop and I am getting over some of my bad habits!!!!"
